Cedar Creek Life Center is a 70 apartment complex that offers a dynamic standard of living in a comfortable setting. We are located just south of NASA's Kennedy Space center in beautiful Merritt Island, FL. Here you can choose from available studio, one and two-bedroom apartments, and feel assured in our ability to provide both independent and assisted living environments.

Amenities

To examine exactly what amenities are offered here during your stay, please choose from the following options.

Independent Living - For older adults, who are still active and healthy, and just don’t want to be bothered with the upkeep of a house any longer, and are seeking an exceptional living experience where they can continue their lifestyle.

Assisted Living - Providing housing, supportive services and lifestyle opportunities to adults that require assistance with activities of daily living but do not need the skilled service provided in a nursing home.

Respite Care - A temporary service for residents in need of watchful care without skilled nursing. From three to thirty days.

Nursing Care

To assist you with the understanding of all the licenses Cedar Creek will offer we have listed them below; along with a brief description of why each one is needed so that our residents can continue to call us home as they “age in place”.

Standard ALF

* Eighteen years old or older
* Able to perform activities of daily living with supervision or assistance
* Free of communicable disease which is likely to be transmitted to other residents or staff
* Capable of participating in social and leisure activities
* Capable of taking his or her own medication with or without supervision by trained staff, requires administration of medication and facility has appropriately licensed staff.
* Capable of self-preservation with assistance from staff in an emergency involving evacuation of the facility.
* Represented by a legal guardian if determined to be incapacitated

Assisted Living PLUS Available (Includes Standard ALF Services and the Following)

* Level I Supervision of medication, plus personal care oversite
* Level II Administration of medication, plus supervision of Personal Care
* Level III Administration of medication, including diabetic medications Assistance with personal care, plus incontinent management
* Level IV Medication management and personal care included in levels I-III Plus Extended care requiring RN oversite

Limited Nursing Services

* Any nursing service permitted under a standard license.
* Provided with an authorization from a health care provider, a copy of which shall be maintained in the resident’s file
* Nursing assessments conducted at least monthly
* Provide passive range of motion exercises
* Applying ice caps, collars, moist and dry heat
* Care of stage 2 pressure sores
* Caring for casts, braces and splints

Extended Congregate Care

Any nursing service permitted within the scope of the nurse’s license consistent with the Residency requirements and the facility’s written policies and procedures, and the Nursing services are:

* Authorized by a health care provider’s orders and pursuant to a plan of care
* Medically necessary and the appropriate for treatment of the resident’s condition
* In accordance with the prevailing standard of practice in the nursing community
* A service that can be safely, effectively, and efficiently provided in the facility
* Recorded in nursing progress notes and in accordance with the resident’s service plan
