What's Around
Greater Orlando. More to explore.
Your life's to-do list just got longer. It’s easy to see why Florida is known as the Sunshine State and not surprising that the Orlando area is quickly becoming one of the newest international resort destinations. From shopping bags to hiking backpacks, magic kingdoms to nature’s magic, your new home in the greater Orlando area has so much to offer that you won’t know where to begin.
Not far from your new home is downtown DeLand, a traditional southern town with all the charm you’d expect (along with all the modern conveniences you need).
Venture out a bit further and enjoy Orlando’s burgeoning "Cultural Corridor." Here you’ll find the Grand Bohemian Gallery, the Orlando Museum of Art, the Harry P. Leu Gardens, Lake Eola Park, and more.
You’re also just a hop, skip and a jump from the fabulous shopping, sports, and culinary scene that is Orlando, where you can get a taste of everything from charming boutiques to a meal prepared by a celebrity chef.
If it’s grabbing a show, you’ll always find just about anything to thrill or stretch you—rock concerts, theater, symphony and ballet. If you prefer an arena, there’s no shortage of sports in the home of the Orlando Magic and The Orlando Predators.
And when it comes to family-friendly things to do with visiting kids and grandkids, you can’t beat Disney World, Sea World, Discovery Cove and CityWalk’s themed restaurants.
Orlando is known for its endless summer of outdoor fun. With more than 2,000 lakes, springs and rivers, the area offers unlimited boating, fishing, canoeing, tubing, jet-skiing and water-skiing adventures.
For more adrenaline-pumping activities, you can get behind the wheel of a 600-horse-power Nextel Cup race car at the Richard Petty Driving Experience, skydive indoors at SkyVenture Orlando, enjoy a sunrise hot air balloon ride with stunning views, or hang glide at Wallaby Ranch Hang Gliding Flight Park. Did we mention golf (lots of it)? You’ll just have to come see it all for yourself.
Conveniences of Shea
What to do today? Hint: It's not trim the hedges.
At Victoria Gardens, we make it easy for you to focus on the things you love. Busy launching a nonprofit, writing a screenplay or trotting the globe? Well, take all the time you need. Meanwhile, we’ll be here to make sure your home and community run as smoothly as that race you’ve been training for—in Hawaii. When you’re not sinking hours into keeping up your hedges, suddenly there’s more time in the day to sink into a hot bath with a good book.
Having Fun
If there’s one thing we know how to do at Victoria Gardens, it’s have a blast. With events like weekly barbecues at The Club at Victoria Gardens where you can enjoy live music and tall cocktails and Club Med trips to Mexico and the Caribbean, your social calendar can be as full as you want it to be.
And at Victoria Gardens, fun is more than song and dance (although we do that, too). Many of our members are involved with philanthropic and community events. Roll up your sleeves and let the good times roll.
Education
Learning and exploration are a big part of living at Victoria Gardens. Whether you’re learning how to improve your game of golf or tennis, exploring the community and surrounding area, or simply learning more about yourself, you’ll expand your mind just by being here--that’s what our core tenets of Freedom and Exploration are all about.
Furthermore, our partnership with nearby Stetson University in DeLand means you'll have access to continuing education both on-site and on-campus.
Support
At Victoria Gardens, we like to make it easy for you to settle in and kick back.
Getting to Know the Area
Victoria Gardens’s community web site, MyVictoriaGardens.com, is a meeting place for everyone who lives here--and a great way to connect quickly with your neighbors and learn about the outside community. Visit the site to find out what service providers Victoria Gardens members recommend. You’ll find information on everything from lawn care and pool maintenance to hairdressers and dentists.
Designing Your Home
At Victoria Gardens, the friendly support process starts even before you arrive. Not only will we work with you to design your new home, but we’ll help you to do so in style.
The way it works is that your experienced Field Manager—the person responsible for building your new home–-will give you a call as soon as construction begins. You’ll get together for a welcome meeting where you’ll learn about Victoria Gardens’ home-building process and why our construction is superior to other builders’.
Then you’ll meet again (when your home is being framed) to learn about the many ways you can design your home around your life. You’ll have fun checking everything out from "behind the walls" before insulation and drywall go up in your new home.
Next you’ll pay a visit to Victoria Gardens’ Design studio where you'll see all the possibilities for your home come to life. Our professional designers will help you compare products, styles and colors. Experts in different areas are available to help with decisions about all sorts of home features like pools, landscaping, and specialty electrical planning.
Home Care
On your move-in day, you'll get the support you need to hit the ground smiling in your new home. Whether it's reviewing items on your walk-through visit list or discussing warranty information, operating instructions and home maintenance, our knowledgeable and helpful Orientation Representative will be there to answer your important questions. Or even ones as small as, "Where can I buy cereal?"
At your one-month visit, your Orientation Representative will review all the best ways to care for your home. Then at a five-month visit, you'll meet again to check in and talk about maintaining your home. Finally, at an 11-month visit, you can talk about how your appliances and services have been performing and ask any follow up questions.
Home Maintenance
You bet. Victoria Gardens’ Customer Service Representatives are specially trained to help you learn to care for and maintain your new home. At your one-month and five-month meetings, he or she will be able to answer all your questions and make sure you’re doing everything right.
And if you have any questions or concerns, just call our Service Center. They'll come to your home to take a look and help get things just how you want them.
Security
Keeping Things Safe
Like a good scout, we like to always be prepared. From community preparedness plans to staff trained in the latest first aid and CPR techniques to high-tech, hard-wired smoke detectors, your safety is designed into every aspect of Victoria Gardens living.
We like to think that Victoria Gardens is as safe as a modern-day Mayberry. But just in case, our gated communities have security monitoring and organized block watches. Getting involved not only gives you an extra boost of confidence knowing your community is secure, but it’s also a great way to get to know your neighbors.
Love to Travel?
Since many of the people who live at Victoria Gardens love to travel and may live elsewhere for months at a time, we make sure it’s safe—not just hassle-free—to live here part-time.
Since we’ve already thought of everything, you’re free to focus on whatever it is that makes you happy. Talk about peace of mind.
